Clean homemade chocolate bark is a great alternative to traditional holiday cookies and makes an easy gift.
1 bag of semi sweet chocolate chips*
1/2 C mixed nuts of choice, chopped
1/2 C mixed seeds of choice
1/2 C of chopped peppermint candy*
*In this recipe, I prefer Evolved semi sweet chocolate chips and Heavenly Organics peppermint cups. I sweetened my own chocolate. I recommend using semi sweet chips to start which can skip many steps to make easier on yourself.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a microwave safe bowl, melt one bag of semi sweet chocolate chips in small increments to prevent chocolate from burning. Stir in between cycles. While melting the chocolate, preheat oven to 350
°. Chop nuts of choice (I love raw almonds and raw cashews). Sprinkle in seeds of choice (I love raw pumpkin and sunflower seeds) on the dry baking sheet and toast till slightly golden and fragrant. Remove from oven and let cool. Once chocolate is melted, pour onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread evenly thin. Sprinkle toasted nuts and seeds on top. Add chopped peppermint cups. Let cool on countertop for a few hours till chocolate hardens. Break up into bark chunks and bag in glassine bags as gifts!
