BAKED JICAMA FRIES
INGREDIENTS1 jicama peeled, cut into sticks
1 tablespoon avocado oil / or vegetable oil of your choice
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garlic powder
I teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon JF Spicy Salt or JF Universal Salt
PROCESSPreheat oven to 440.
Peel and slice your jicama and place in a large bowl
Add oil and spices. Toss well with tongs if you want to save your manicure. The turmeric will stain your nails.
Place the fries on a parchment lined baking sheet. Do not crowd them or they will not get crunchy. Bake for approximately 30 minutes then flip and continue baking for another 20-30 minutes.
Serve with ranch, low sugar BBQ sauce, mustard, low sugar ketchup, sweet chili sauce or hot sauce. They work as a low carb side. I’ll take anything on this Keto diet! I am going to try them as a side with chili next. It is getting cold and I'm in the mood to make some.
