Brown Sugar Garlic Chicken

Perfect When In The Mood For Healthy Chinese


1 package organic boneless chicken (approximately 3 large single) breasts

2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

1/3 cup organic light brown sugar (for an intense sweetness, use dark brown)

JF Universal Salt to season (approximately 1 tsp)

Fresh cracked black pepper to taste



Preheat oven to 390.

Pat dry chicken breasts and place in a large bowl. Add brown sugar, garlic, salt and pepper. Using hands, mix well to coat chicken (I shove the mixture into any cracks in the chicken, as well).

Place on a disposable aluminum baking/broil pan (trust me, you don't want to clean the baking dish after this baked sugar mess).

I scrape the bowl and really coat the chicken with my hands, once on pan.

Season a bit more (eyeball it).

Bake for approximately 20 minutes, until chicken is a nice, dark golden brown.

Watch it as you don't want it to burn! Some of the sugar on the foil will so make sure it's not on the chicken, it can be bitter. But any of the golden syrup you want to pour over the chicken after it's done.

Remove from pan and place on a plate. Pour any golden brown syrup on top of chicken and allow to cook, slightly.

Serve over plain rice of your choice and broccoli and garnish with plenty of siracha and or soy sauce and fresh sliced green onion and cilantro. Makes a great Chinese rice bowl with zero guilt!

Top with a few pinches of JF Spicy Salt.
